Doctor of Science | University Mohammed V in Rabat | Morocco

Dr. Mohamed El Bakkali is a distinguished researcher and antenna engineer affiliated with Mohamed V University in Rabat and Chouaib Doukkali University in El Jadida, Morocco. He holds a PhD in Physics (Telecommunications) from Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University and advanced degrees in Physics with specializations in control, signals, and systems. An internationally recognized pioneer in CubeSat antenna design, he authored the first academic thesis introducing planar antennas with parasitic elements and metasurfaces for 3U CubeSat missions. Dr. El Bakkali leads a multinational research network of professors, IEEE fellows, and doctoral researchers collaborating across Europe, Asia, and Africa on CubeSat and IoT antenna development. His research spans metamaterial antennas, deep space communication, aerospace systems, and RF optimization, resulting in numerous publications in high-impact journals and Scopus-indexed books with Springer and Taylor & Francis. A peer reviewer for MDPI journals such as Sensors, Electronics, Aerospace, and Applied Sciences, he also serves on multiple technical and program committees for IEEE and international conferences including AIC, CIS, and SENSORCOMM. Dr. El Bakkali has received certificates of excellence as Session Chair, Reviewer, and Best Paper Awardee in antenna design, and is recognized for his contributions to advancing space communication technologies and mentoring the next generation of antenna scientists. His research record includes 95 citations, 37 publications, and an h-index of 5.
