Dr. Fatemeh Avazpour is a highly accomplished researcher and educator in Water and Hydraulic Structure Engineering, currently affiliated with Yazd University, Iran. She holds a Ph.D. in Water and Hydraulic Structure Engineering from Yazd University, an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Engineering from Yasuj University, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the same institution. Her academic and research pursuits center on hydrology, hydraulic structures, numerical and hydrological modeling, and the integration of artificial intelligence techniques—such as deep learning and optimization algorithms—for streamflow and sediment prediction under climate change conditions. Dr. Avazpour has served as a faculty member teaching hydraulic and hydrologic engineering courses and as a visiting researcher at the Water, Energy and Environment Research Unit of Oulu University, Finland. She has authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers in reputed international journals and conferences, as well as translated technical books on computational fluid dynamics and numerical modeling. Her professional roles include engineering consultancy, project supervision, and refereeing for national and international journals. She is an active member of the Watershed Management Society of Iran and the Iranian Water Resources Association. Her recognitions include selection as a visiting researcher in Finland, top researcher and best faculty awards at Pishtazan University, and first rank in her Master’s program. Dr. Avazpour’s commitment to applying artificial intelligence for sustainable water resource management continues to enhance the interdisciplinary advancement of hydraulic and environmental engineering.
