Dr. Jaynos is a Faculty Member at the Department of Fisheries Sciences, College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, North Eastern Mindanao State University, specializing in aquaculture, aquatic health management, and sustainable fisheries. He holds a Ph.D. in Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, a Master’s in Fisheries Management major in Aquaculture Technology from Davao del Norte State College, and a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries from North Eastern Mindanao State University. With extensive professional experience as faculty, researcher, and project collaborator in international initiatives on aquaculture sustainability, climate resilience, and aquatic biodiversity, he has contributed significantly through leadership roles, curriculum development, and community-based fisheries programs. His research focuses on crustacean nutritional physiology, tilapia culture, aquaculture health, and the impacts of climate change, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals and active participation in international conferences. He has served as a reviewer and editorial board member for multiple Scopus- and WoS-indexed journals, and as a judge in global academic conferences. Dr. Cortes has been recognized with the Yang Yi Young Scientist Fellowship Award, as well as scholarships and fellowships for his doctoral studies. He is an active member of professional organizations including the European Aquaculture Society, Malaysian Fisheries Society, Global Seafood Alliance, and the National Research Council of the Philippines. His exemplary blend of academic excellence, research innovation, and professional service highlights his commitment to advancing sustainable aquaculture and fisheries science globally.
